Necessary Conditions for Consistency of Noise-Free, ACC00-IEEE1403 Closed-Loop Frequency-Response Data with Coprime Factor Models

چکیده
A basic requirement of robust control theory is that a nominal model and an uncertainty model be available for the plant. The assumption is that the plant can be modeled by at least one of the perturbations of the nominal model in the uncertainty set. This raises the problem of constructing such an uncertainty set that would be consistent with a given set of experimental input-output data. This paper introduces necessary conditions for the model/data consistency problem with coprime factor uncertainty and noise-free closed-loop frequency-response measurements. It is assumed that a stabilizing controller providing su cient damping was implemented on a lightly-damped or unstable system, allowing measurement of the closed-loop frequency response at distinct frequencies. The necessary conditions involve the computation of singular values of complex matrices associated with the measurement frequencies. Standard factorizations and left-coprime factor models of large exible space structures are considered.

The model/data consistency problem for coprime factorizations considered here is this: Given some possibly noisy frequency-response data obtained by running open-loop experiments on a system, show that these data are consistent with a given family of perturbed coprime factor models and a timedomain L1 noise model. In the noise-free open-loop case, the model/data consistency problem boils down t...

This paper addresses the problem of checking the consistency of experimental closed-loop frequency-domain data with uncertainty models that are structured using coprime factorizations. The uncertainty models presented in this paper use the knowledge of a stabilizing feedback controller to structure and formulate the uncertainty on a model. The aim of this paper is to minimize output phase noise for the pure signal synthesis in the frequency synthesizers. For this purpose, first, an exact mathematical model of phase locked loop (PLL) based frequency synthesizer is described and analyzed. Then, an exact closed-form formula in terms of synthesizer bandwidth and total output phase noise is extracted. Based on this formula, the phase ...

Studies on iterative identification and model based control design have shown the necessity for identifying models on the basis of closed-loop data. Estimating models on the basis of closed-loop data requires special attention due to cross correlation of noise and input signals and the possibility to estimate unstable systems operating under a stabilizing closed-loop controller. This paper prov...
